The WRAL TechWire headline blared:We’re No. 1: North Carolina ranks first in nation for strong business climate.”  That’s right, according to Site Selection magazine, North Carolina is ranked “the top state for business climate in the U.S.”

The article stated that “Where North Carolina beat out all other U.S. states was in the new firm tax index rank and among the publication’s “Prosperity Cup” rank.”

Most importantly, the report showed that one of the biggest advantages for the state is that the state’s corporate tax rate: 2.5% — is the lowest of the 44 states that levy such a tax.

Our state continues to be recognized for the strong stand our Reform Majority has taken on tax reform and the positive impact cutting the state’s corporate tax has had on helping create jobs, create an attractive atmosphere for new companies, and strengthening our economy.

Once again we salute the conservative legislative leadership for their courage and determination to stand firm on their principles and make our state a better place to live, work and raise a family.  In a world where so much common sense and traditional wisdom has been turned upside down by leftwing activism and cultural shifts, it is heartening to see one area of our lives where holding to tried and true wisdom is paying off for North Carolina taxpayers.
