STUDENT MASKS STILL MANDATED

How frustrating this must be for NC parents of school-age children.  We are one of the few states to still have a mask mandate in our schools.

The News and Observer has reported that, according to Forbes.com, “10 states currently mandate masks in all schools, according to technology company Burbio, which helps schools and communities build calendars and event plan: California, Washington, New Mexico, Illinois, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Virginia, Hawaii and North Carolina.”

That’s right.  We’re right up there with some of the most liberal states in the nation.

Is it the NCAE teachers union still dictating NC policy?  Or is Governor Cooper just dragging his feet?

Parents are frustrated and taking action.  Several NC county school boards have voted to oppose the school mask mandate – including Harnett County, Union County, Haywood County and Rowan-Salisbury schools.

The N&O reported “The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued updated guidance on Friday saying fully vaccinated students and teachers don’t have to wear face masks in school.”

More and more we’re seeing North Carolina under Governor Cooper’s leadership march in lockstep with these other liberal states.  Are we missing something, or is there anything good about trying to keep up with states controlled by San Francisco, L.A., Chicago and Washington, DC and their failed policies?
