Hmm. Just as we hear about rape in the Wake County schools (after discipline was relaxed), up comes a threat to close year-round school unless we stuff more kids in a class.
But Wake County has increased taxes time after time. Supposedly for schools. But now Wake bureaucrats say they can’t meet the lower class size in early grades of 1/16 without ending year-round school.
But schools have had years to get ready. And where are all those tax increases going? And why not use the $276 million fund balance?
Senators should keep lower class size. Let the bureaucrats explain why stacking 24 kids in a first grade class is good for education. The bureaucrats can spend their time getting thugs out of school instead of threatening year-round school.
