TEACHERS OVERPAID?

Sometimes the devil takes hold and you say something you shouldn’t. So here goes.

A study by the respected American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation found teachers are overpaid compared to similar workers.

It concludes ”Workers who switch from non-teaching jobs to teaching jobs receive a wage increase of roughly 9 percent. Teachers who change to non-teaching jobs, on the other hand, see their wages decrease by roughly 3 percent. This is the opposite of what one would expect if teachers were underpaid”.

North Carolina teachers have received a 24% increase in their compensation since 2011. Teacher raises are twice as big as raises in the rest of the economy. And the conservative majority is supposedly bad for teachers? Get real.

Pointing to a study saying teachers are overpaid. That’s enough devilment for today.
